Position Description
Reporting to the CEO, the President of Lending is responsible for leading our clients core business of funding the building of thriving communities. This President is also responsible for driving execution, enabling growth, and providing extraordinary service to operators/borrowers, lenders, and investors. He or she will own the entire credit platform, including origination, underwriting, portfolio management, servicing, and special assets, continuing disciplined capital deployment and strong risk-adjusted returns across multiple lending strategies. The President will maintain accountability for portfolio performance, credit quality, operational excellence, and platform growth while consistently improving processes and workflow, leveraging technology, and driving a culture of ownership, leadership and execution throughout the organization.

- Achieve Balance Sheet Origination Volume Target for 2026 of $1.65B
- Achieve Capital Advisory Origination Target of $750M
- Achieve Loan Transaction Revenue of $50M
- Achieve Budgeted NOI For Lending
Responsibilities
- Lead the Lending Business
- Lead EES for the Lending business
- Lead lending/finance, portfolio management, and servicing
- Lead originations, capital markets, underwriting/credit, and loan management
- Lead originations team training, management, and development
- Lead product development
- Lead originations pipeline management – sourcing and structuring loans
- Lead disciplined product pricing, leverage & guidelines
- Lead delivering wow to existing clients
- Drive lending risk assessment, stress testing and downside protection through compliance standards by instituting policies and procedures.
- Ensure portfolio tracking, analytics, and dashboards are up to date
- Protect the company from internal and external risks and threats
- Lead delivering on brand promises. Ensure speed, surety of execution, and wow experience
- Deliver speed with precision (loan closing, statements, draw processing, etc)
- Oversee loan portfolio performance from close through payoff
- Voting member of Credit Committee
- Voting member of Investment Committee
- Ensure proactive portfolio management, borrower engagement, and issue resolution
- Alignment meetings once monthly (minimum) with each direct report, and alignment GPS meetings once quarterly (minimum)
- Lead daily huddles, weekly L10, and weekly sales trainings
- Lead monthly platform presentation & performance review w/ CEO & Senior Leadership
- Build personal relationships with all “Top 20” sponsors and prospective “Top 20” sponsors
- Expand Loan Sale/Securitization Platform – Lead in rolling out and ramping up the firm’s multifamily debt platform (“bank” cost of capital)
- Oversee the management of fund’s warehousing lender platform and relationships
Requirements
- Experience leading a direct lender with significant volume
- Experience leading development, construction, and bridge financing platforms
- Preferred: Deep special asset and loan servicing background
- Preferred: Deep experience in capital markets
- Preferred: Experience leading lending in a 5 billion+ bank
